2010 Annual General Meeting

All members of the Blackburne Creek Homeowners' Association's Board of Directors were re-elected at the 2010 Annual General Meeting of the association held on November 3 at the Ellerslie Rugby Park.

 

Grant Ainsley, Len Hawreliak, Guy Luke,  Drew Schofield and Glenn Thamer were all returned for another term by the two dozen association members who attended the meeting.  Brian Hawrelak also let his name stand for election and was elected by the membership, so the Board will consist of six members.  It will vote on which positions each Board member should hold at its first meeting.

 

Also at the meeting, the Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Alec Benning.  Benning was the first President of the association and also worked for several years to get entrance signs erected on 111 Street at Blackburn Drive. Treasurer Drew Schofield presented the association's financial report.  He said there would be a slight loss on operations in the 2009-2010 year.  The membership approved a 2010-2011 budget that calls for a slight surplus.  Also at the meeting, Community Liaison Guy Luke presented a report on the gazebo that was constructed at the playground this past summer and President Grant Ainsley talked about the highlights of the year for the association.
