Front Yard Favourites

Final judging for the Blackburne in Bloom contest was done last weekend and the winners were revealed on

our website for the first time last night. In an extremely tight contest, the home at 929 Blackett Wynd, narrowly won over two homes on the same street - 907 Blackett Wynd and 927 Blackett Wynd. Full details on the final results can be found here.

17 other homes were named finalists and also looked great this year. Here is a list of the finalists.

Lock Up

A recent round of vehicle break-ins in the community should remind everyone that it's important to keep your cars locked and take all valuables out before doing so. Three cars were broken into within a week in late June and early July. These thefts bring to 10 the number of reported crimes in the community already this year. That's just one fewer than the total for 2013. If you see anything suspicious, help your neighbour and contact City Police.

Thanks For Your Payment

Thanks to everyone who paid their association membership fees for the 2014-15 year by the July 31 deadline. This year members had the option of using online payments and roughly 40 percent did. There were a few issues, but all were manageable. Some changes will be made to the system for next year to make it easier to use.

We are still looking for payments from around 40 members and reminder invoices went out in the mail last week.
