Leonard Hawreliak Passes Away

A longtime member of the Blackburne Creek community and Director on the Blackburne Creek Homeowner's Association passed away on Wednesday, February 1.

 

Len Hawreliak (pictured to the right) served several years on the association Board of Directors,  most of that time as Secretary. Len did an incredible job as Secretary, a task that involved the collection of annual membership dues from over 400 members.

 

Hawreliak was awarded the Blackburne Creek Volunteer of the Year award in November of 2011. The photo to the right shows him accepting the award from then association President Grant Ainsley at the 2011 Annual General Meeting.  Len left the Board in the spring of 2013, after serving for close to a decade.

 

Funeral services took place on Saturday, February 11.

 

The association would like to pass along its condolences to Len's wife Sonia and family.
