Cleaning Up
The Blackburne Creek Clean-up takes place this Saturday, beginning at 9:00am at the gazebo in the playground.
We're looking for your help to spend an hour or two that morning to
assist in the clean-up efforts. Just show up at the gazebo at 9:00am
dressed for the weather and with comfortable and safe footwear and we'll
put you to work. We will have gloves, bags for garbage, sticks to use
and let you know which area to work in. If you have any questions, just drop us an email. Thanks to Dan Edwards of the Board of Directors for organizing and leading this Saturday's cleanup efforts.
Our New Look
It has taken a lot of work but the new Blackburne Creek website is now up and running. The new site is
a refresh of the old one and makes it easier for residents to sign up
for the newsletter, view old newsletters and get a load of information
about the community. The site contains stories on events and issues in
Blackburne Creek and serves as an archive for events as the years go by.
The new site is also mobile friendly. Thanks to the gang at Mediashaker for their hard work on the website.
Online Payments Now Here
The
biggest change in the website allows residents to pay their annual
homeowner's association fees online. The association's Board of
Directors listened to requests from members for online payments and now
it's a reality. Invoices to all members will be coming your way at the
start of June and they can be paid by clicking on the Online Fee
Payments at the top of the page. The site accepts Visa, MasterCard and
American Express payments. You still have the opportunity to pay by
cheque if you prefer. The fees remain at $90 annually for single family
homes and $60 for condos. Funds mainly go towards maintaining and
beautifying common areas in the community such as the front entrance and
playground. Look for online payment information on your invoice, or our website.
Happy Trails
The association wants to wish Bruce and Joyce Flesher all the best as they enjoy life in a new condo in Edmonton.
Bruce and Joyce built the first home in Blackburne Creek (71 Blackburn
Drive) over 20 years ago. Their distinctive home is the first you reach
after getting to the top of the hill in our area.
The good news is that Bruce will continue to run the Canadian flag
program in Blackburne Creek on behalf of the Southeast Edmonton Rotary
Club. If you would like to join the flag program, just drop Bruce an email. All the best to Blackburne Creek's first residents as you enjoy life with less yard work to do. |
