No Volunteers - No Block Party

For the first time in a few years, no block party will be held in Blackburne Creek this year.  The Board of Directors of the Blackburne Creek Homeowners' Association felt that decision was the only one possible after a call out for volunteers to run the block party failed.

 

Association President Grant Ainsley said "It's unfortunate there won't be a block party this year, but it seemed to the Board of Directors that it was a clear case of a lack of volunteer support for the event.  We certainly tried to get volunteers to run the event and the Board dedicated funds for it as well, but the event needs people to make it go.  Perhaps it can be restarted next year."

 

Last year's event was held under sunny skies in early July and around 240 people attended.
