Board Votes to Increase Penalties For Non-Payment
The Board of Directors of the Blackburne Creek Homeowners' Association has voted to add additional financial penalties to those members who refuse to pay their annual association fees.
The Board has decided that any member who hasn't paid their fees after a second reminder letter goes out in the fall, will see $25 added to the amount owed. If they don't pay when the third and final reminder letter is sent, another $25 will be added to the total. If the annual dues, penalties and interest are not paid by then, the matter will be turned over to a collection agency.
The Board felt that a monthly penalty of 1.5% wasn't a sufficient deterrent to those who refuse to pay and also didn't cover the additional costs of pursuing people who don't make a payment to the association.
This spring look for invoices from the association for annual fees in your mailbox and once again fees can be paid online through this website.
