Blackburne Creek will be holding a Block
Party this Saturday, September 26. It will be at the playground, where
previous block parties have been held.
This one will have a difference though, as it will be a pancake breakfast. Come by anytime between 10am on Saturday morning and noon to enjoy some flapjacks.
There will be entertainment for the kids including a jumpy castle, a
balloon lady and a police car, along with other surprises too.
Everything takes place this Saturday from 10am-noon at the playground
and the weather is supposed to be good. We'll see you there.
A Sad Day For Our Community
Many in our community were deeply saddened a month ago when we learned that Alec Benning had passed away.
Alec was a great leader in the community, having served as President of
the Blackburne Creek Homeowners' Association for several years and he
also was the first winner of the association's Volunteer of the Year
Award.
Congratulations once again go to Guy and Eileen Luke of 929 Blackett Wynd for winning the 2015 Blackburne in Bloom contest. This is the second year in a row they've been the choice of the judges.
Finishing in the top three were two other consistent winners from the
past - 927 Blackett Wynd and 924 Blackett Wynd. All three homes are
within a stone's throw of each other.
A Date For the AGM
The 2015 Annual General Meeting of the Blackburne Creek Homeowners' Association will take place on Tuesday, November 3 beginning at 7:00pm. Once again the meeting will be held at the Ellerslie Rugby Park.
There will be information on the operations of the association over the
previous year and if you would like to volunteer for the Board of
Directors this will be your opportunity to do so.
