Many thanks to those of you who joined us at the park in June for community connection. It was lovely to come together with neighbours to share concerns and discuss solutions. The following topics were brought up by your neighbours and discussed during this meeting:
- Landscaping concerns and suggestions to share with city of Edmonton. Our front flower beds are in need of some intervention. The board is considering options and may call for volunteers to help.
- Updates on speeding and fire smart working groups
- Community gathering - watch your email and the website for more details. We will be organizing a simple community gathering in September
- Financial update - the 2024/2025 invoices have been sent out. We are continuing to be conservative in our expenditures as we work towards stabilizing our financial position. We have cut back on some landscaping and one of our board members has been doing additional lawn care and clearing weeds to keep our costs down - thanks Lowry!
- Donations from residents who are not required to belong to the HOA are welcome and can be made through e-transfer or cheque sent through Canada Post (see below for details).
- Trust fund - no update, $6500 is still held in trust fund outside of the current board's control. Please see member's portal for more information.
- Restrictive covenant and architectural guidelines - no changes. While the current board would like to seek clarity on the restrictive covenant as there has been conflicting legal opinions, we do not have the funds to proceed at this time. If you would like to donate towards these legal expenses, donations can be made to the HOA (see below for details). In the comments, please indicate you are making a donation. Please note, we are not able to provide tax receipts as we are not a registered charity.
